Arsenal Midfielder; Thomas Partey, came off injured in the first half vs Manchester City in the FA Cup tie Friday night. The midfielder appeared to have sustained a rib injury and would be undergoing an MRI to determine his fate.
Asked about the incident, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta had this to say;
He had some discomfort and it was getting worse and worse. He could not continue. No initial diagnosis. Tomorrow, or the day after it will have to be an MRI scan and we’ll see what he has.
Thomas Partey’s injury proved costly as Arsenal lost the tie 1-0 via a Nathan Ake strike in the second half. The Gunners will be hoping that the injury is minor as Partey is a crucial piece in their quest for a Premier League title in almost 20 years.

Although Arsenal boss Arteta called the defeat “disappointing,” the fact remains that Arsenal’s fixture schedules are lesser with the FA Cup exit and would provide the North London club more concentration in the hunt for the Premier league title.
As it stands, Arsenal have only the Europa league fixtures to bother about.
